I think TAKS is a load of crap!  Yes, crap! I wholeheartedly believe in keeping teachers and students accountable for a certain amount of information in a year, but TAKS gives the kids enough rope to hang themselves.  They are always trying to trick them with copious amounts of information that the classroom didn't even teach in that way!!!  I am sick of it.  Can anyone say added value?  If a student comes into my 7th grade classroom with a 3rd grade math knowledge level, and I increase him to a 5th grade level, but still passes the TAKS, all that hard work goes unrecognized.  I think that is a BUNCH OF BOLOGNA!!!!!!!!!!!!
